FEEDING SYSTEMS

18" CASCADE BOWL ON B18 DRIVE UNIT
Pictured is a good feeding application for a cascade bowl. The simple pins feeding end
to end at random into a tube require very little tooling to orient. The cascade
design insures a simpler, quieter, lower profile, less expensive system that is gentler on
parts. Our cascade bowls can be lined with thick sheet urethane for superior wear and
noise reduction.

10" STRAIGHT WALL BOWL ON B18 DRIVE UNIT
This system is feeding a simple rivet, but the requirement is to feed the
rivets down a tube all the same way. This application is better
accomplished with a
straight wall or outside tooled bowl that allows enough tooling room to first hang rivets
and then trip them into the tube all with the same orientation.

TYPICAL FEEDING SYSTEM
This system feeding plastic mascara brushes shows the elements in a typical feeding
system:
- Bowl Feeder - in this case a 24" cascade stainless steel bowl.
- Track - an M-4 vibratory track
- Supply Hopper - a HO2SF, 2 cubic foot stainless steel hopper on an adjustable stand
- Track Switch - Stops the feeder when the track is full
- Hopper Paddle/Switch - automatically keeps a constant supply of parts in the bowl.
- Adjustable height feeder stand

Outside Orientor
This system is an operator assisted machine designed to place a plastic cap on a
plastic double barrel glue syringe. However, the cap has two sides that are not
distinguishable in a feeder. The caps are fed end to end at random to a sensor and
rotary actuator which turns incorrectly oriented parts.
